From the brand
Designed in the mid '80s by Yale and US National Team Rower John Duke who formed WATERROWER Inc in 1988 in Rhode Island, in the North Eastern United States, our Americas Headquarters continues to be based in Rhode Island, in the small coastal town of Warren. Today, WATERROWER is an American Fitness Brand with a vast assortment of rowing machines, all of which are manufactured in the quintessential coastal New England town of Warren, Rhode Island, and can be found within expansive health clubs, luxury hotels and boutique fitness studios throughout the world.
WATERROWER's wooden models are handcrafted from a selection of the world's finest sustainable hardwoods, making our products unique. WATERROWER Inc. is also a proud supporter of our local Rhode Island community.
The WATERROWER's unique WaterFlywheel has been designed to reproduce the precise physical dynamics of a moving boat, providing the surest way to replicate the physiological benefits and aesthetic pleasure of rowing. Like rowing, the WaterFlywheel does not apply resistance to you; you apply work to it, and you are the engine. The amount of work you apply dictates the speed at which you row, allowing anyone to row regardless of age, sex, size, or level of fitness.
The WATERROWER's unique WaterFlywheel design uses a specially formed paddle to cup the moving water, reduce slippage, and produce an unrivaled simulation of the benefits of rowing. This results in no jerkiness or jarring, only a smooth, even load that is kind to the body and relaxing to the mind. The immersed paddle also provides some "give," which is essential for accommodating bad or developing technique, lessening the risk of injury.
The S4 Monitor measures the speed of the paddle using an infrared detector mounted on the underside of the top deck and a castellated Sensor Pickup mounted on the inner clutch bush. The motion of the paddle revolves the sensor disk, which in turn triggers the infrared detector.
A comfortable seat for rowing is essential for optimizing performance and ensuring a satisfying and effective workout experience. The seat provides proper cushioning and contouring, while minimizing pressure points and promoting healthy posture, helping to keep your focus on generating powerful and efficient strokes.
Wheels for easing the movement of the machine provide an efficient solution to transporting the rower. These wheels are designed to enhance mobility and maneuverability in various settings, making it effortless to reposition and store without the need for excessive manual effort or additional equipment.
